Activation Mantras by Kayla Baboolal
Below is a list of Activation Mantras as well as variations that can be used for daily meditation. I have added a few videos which include a full 108 recitations when possible. The Ganesh Mantra (HealingDrum.Com) and Shiva Mantra (Krisha Das) may not contain the full 108 repetitions, however, they are by far my favorite incarnations. The tribal drumming and how it resonates you into trance is too beautiful to not share.
I have found taking evening walks in High Park after work a great way to do a walking meditation using the Mantras for self healing and devotion. The walking mediation serves as a form of offering and assist me with respect to my Ayurvedic `lifestyle`requirements. (See, it all really does tie in together :D)
There are several Mantras available, but as I`ve noted, this is a personal journey I am sharing with you, and as such I have selected some of the Mantras I personally use and do so In perfect love and perfect trust, with a sincere Namaste… Shakti-Shaman, your Fireside Witch.
This section is dedicated to Mama, Papa and my Soul Sister t for the sharing of spirit through Mantras.
Esoteric Lakshmi Mantra:
Opt 1: Om Gum Shrim Maha Lakshmiyei Swaya
Opt 2: Om Shrim Maha Lakshmi Namaha
Most people call to Lakshmi Mata for prosperity, however, one of the first things you must understand is the various ways in your life you can be, and most likely are, already prosperous. Call on this mantra to give thanks for what you have, and to remove any obstacles you may create within yourself to receiving (some people are givers, and find it hard to accept help or even gifts, this mantra would be beneficial to them.) ~ KB
A Ganesh/Ganapati Mantra:
Opt 1: Shrim Hrim Klim Glaum Gum Ganapatayei Sarva Janam Me Vasha-manaya Swaya
Opt 2: Om Gum Ganapatayei Namaha
Before any other Mantra, I recommend calling on Lord Ganesh. In pujas he is the gatekeeper and as such he is honoured before all others. (think Papa Legba in Vodou or Manannan mac Lir, in Druidism). In turn, the energy of Ganesh will help you remove the obstacles in your life. More so, it will help you acknowledge the obstacles you have placed there yourself, and take ownership for their existence and their removal, dissolving it back into their source and allowing the energy to be returned to you in a usable form. ~ KB
Opt 1: Om Sarva Kamadaya Namaya
Opt 2: Om Namah Shivaya
A Panchakshara Mantra (panch means five), it represents the five elements of earth, water, fire (Shakti Energy of manifestation), air, and ether/space (Shiva energy of thought). As a Panchakshara Mantra it focuses on manifestation of creation back to source from which all things originate. In doing so, you see that you are part of careation itself and hold its power within us – Working with the Chakras, or raising power to Manifest an ongoing ritual/spell or healing can benefit from the energy of this Mantra. As a side, Shiva is knows to hold the heart beat/drum beat within and this is a great Mantra for drummers. The Krishna Das version is my favorite, and included below. As Mantras are the seed sounds of creation, they also form the basis for ritual songs. The ‘mantra’ within this video is such a version and it builds energy in a truly uplifting way. I hope you enjoy it, with reverence. ~ KB
Om Shri Dhanvantre Namaha
Use for guidance to find the most appropriate path to healing on all levels. It’s energy sends out your need for healing and allows the universe to guide you to an appropriate source. – Has to be said, but consult your family doctor first, of course 🙂 Devi Premal has a beautiful version of this Mantra. Om and Salutations to the Celestial Healer. ~ KB
Om Dram Om Guru Dattaya Namaha
Om and Salutations to the Eternal Enlightener of souls. Use to sharpen your skills as a spiritual counselor and teacher and to help you progress on your own spiritual path. A truly worthy Mantra, for which I could not find a video at this time. Stay tuned! Once I find (or create one) it will be posted. ~ KB
Bhagavan Sri Krishna (Vishnu) Mantra:
Om Namo Bagavate Vasudevaya
A 12 seed (syllable) mantra it is a Mukti (liberation) mantra it can be interpreted to call for a surrender of your ego to the Devine within and in all things. The Mantra also works to assist in balancing the polarities of physical/psychic, shiva/shakti, yin/yang, solar/lunar (dual energies) within. This balances your chakras as well, which is required before Kundalini Activation and processing can occur. This mantra brings me incredible peace, and I recommend Devi Premal`s version, however, to allow for the 108 recitations, I have selected a different interpretation with the video below. The author of the video also included detailed information on the meaning of this Mantra. ~ KB
The Gayatri Mantra:
Opt 1: Om Bhu Om Bhuvaha Om Swaha Om Mama Om Janaha Om Tapaha Om Satyam Om tat Savitur Varenyam Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi Dhiyo Yonaha Prachodayat
Opt 2: Om Bhu Bhuvaha Swaha – Tat Savitur Varenyam – Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi- Dhiyo Yonaha Prachodayat
One of the most used mantras, it is used to illuminate your intellect, support dharma, and draw light into each chakra.
Breakdown Option 2:
(Video and most commonly practiced version)
Om Bhu Bhuvaha Swaha – Salutations to the Earth, Air and Space (The elements/The Hollows)
Tat Savitur Varenyam: – Salutations to the realm beyond human comprehension (Creator/Spirit/The Kindred)
Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi – In that place where all the celestials of all the spheres have….
Dhiyo Yonaha Prachodayat – …. received enlightenment, kindly enlighten our intellect:
The version of the video I have chosen to share is amazing. If you think it’s too long, you may not be ready to introduce the Gayatri with no conditions and open heart and soul into your life. You will be surprised where you can incorpate this recitation in your daily activites ;), that said, you can recite the mantra in ‘chant’ form and it will take less time, but this version allows me to think about the interpretation each time I chant it. Namaste ~ KB
